Audrey Ann Meland, age 90, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was born July 6, 1928 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Howard and Marie Owens. She graduated from Madison East High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she met her husband, Creighton Meland. She and Creighton raised four children, all of whom survive her: Creighton R. (Pamela) Meland, Jr., of Hinsdale, Illinois, Mary Kay (John Coy) Meland, of Mission Viejo, California, Timothy Owens (Lynn) Meland, of Granite Bay, California and Jane Marie Meland of Okemos, Michigan and she is also survived by three grandchildren: Alison Meland, William Meland and Caroline Meland Edwards. Audrey was an elegant woman with an energetic spirit and a beautiful smile. She loved her family, her pets (as well as any animals she came across), flowers, art, and playing bridge. She was always enthusiastic about any activity her family suggested and was a joy to be with. Audrey made friends with everyone she met up to the end of her life. Family and friends will be received at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive, Rochester, Michigan on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. for visitation followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment private.
