Beautiful memory of our families together for a canoe trip.

On behalf of Anders’ family, we want to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us remember his life and give him the “good bye” he deserved.  We feel humbled by the level of love and support that has been shown to us during such a difficult time - your text messages, cards, phone calls, meals, hugs, and support mean the world. It’s incredible to have experienced such a large turnout of people who traveled from near and far to say goodbye to Anders – and to feel the love and support of those who were unable to attend in person yet let us know they were there with us in spirit.   This outpouring of love is a testament to the ways in which Anders touched all our lives and the ways in which he served as a source of joy and laughter for all of us.  
The memories and stories you’ve shared, whether publicly or amongst yourselves, highlight the fact that Anders meant something different to all of us. They have allowed us to remember the light he brought to all that knew him.  The sum of who he was to all of us is even more powerful than what he meant to each of us individually.  Thank you for sharing those precious memories with us.
Anders would be touched to see how deeply he’s loved, and by so many.  We’re certain he would want you all to know how deeply he loved you all in return.
He would also want us to care for one another.  He would want us to cherish the time we have together, and he would want us to do so with levity and laughter.  In doing so, we can ensure that the love and happiness Anders brought each of us continues to radiate throughout our relationships with one another, and that his spirit lives on through us.
Hemingway wrote that “Every man has two deaths. When he is buried in the ground and the last time someone says his name.” It is a great comfort to us to be so confident that Anders will live on for a long time.

(Cont. 2/2) After high school I only spoke with Anders sporadically, but I'm so fortunate to have re-connected with him this past year when we started playing xbox again. It was like nothing had changed. It felt so freeing to be able to forget about all the adult problems we were faced with and just pretend like we were kids again. A few times he said he needed this time on xbox to just feed that unhinged part of him again. He made me laugh so hard. 

And he was just as emotionally aware. One night I was telling some sick jokes and making everyone laugh, but he was the only one afterwards that picked up on how I was actually feeling underneath my humor. He texted me and asked me if everything was okay and that he noticed I was saying some things that weren't okay, even though the others just thought I was joking. I'm so mad that I lied to him and said I was just joking. I didn't want him to stress over my life problems but I should have been honest and talked to him. He was really there to listen. And I'm so mad at myself for not being there for him and picking up on anything he was going through. I love him so much, I wish I could have protected him like he protected us.

He shaped his friend group and beyond. I'm not in his close circle of friends, but i've had people who met me separately that said that us Adams boys all talk a certain way. And that we laugh at the same things and that we are all so loving. So much of that was from Anders. He was the spark of life in all of his circles. 

I could keep writing about him forever. I wish there were more recordings of his jokes. I wish I could flip through my xbox and be able to scroll through our old chats and games. I'm going to miss him so much.

This past year Anders and I reflected on how similar of a childhood we had - we both had two sisters, we were forced to play piano from the same teacher, had to sit through boring church, and at the same time we both developed a deep interest in wreaking havoc on the xbox community. We started playing xbox together in middle school and immediately recognized that us and Jack Wentzloff were an unstoppable force. I truly believe the three of us permanently changed the xbox community for better or for much (much) worse (lol). Our voice chats would be pure chaos. It felt like a battle to make the others laugh no matter what, and Anders had the best and most creative humor of anyone I'll ever meet. I cannot understand how he came up with stuff. Trying to re-tell a joke or story he told gets lost in translation in my head. I don't think anyone is wired the way he was. He was so so special. His humor had the widest range and was real magic. 

He was also the most socially aware and caring person I knew. His empathy and ability to feel outside of himself is something I really aspire to have. Even as a kid I remember how emotionally aware he was. In the 6th grade, when my body was making changes, I didn't have deodorant one day and was not smelling great in class. I felt so embarrassed and I didn't know what to do. I just froze in my seat while I could see the other kids start to notice. Anders sat right across from me and he picked up on the situation so fast. He glanced at me and looked away. Then he made a motion to smell himself and said "ah, i think I forgot deodorant today!". And he took that pressure off of me. I keep thinking on that day. He was so young but so emotionally aware. He didn't want anyone to feel pain. He wanted to protect us all. (cont. 1/2)

It is just truly hard to accept that you are no longer with us. I will miss and cherish your unique sense of humor and your caring nature. Your presence made a huge impact on a lot of lives and I will do my best to carry that on with me. ❤️ Rest easy Anders. Love you forever.

Anders was like an older brother to me, he was best friends with my older brother. Anders was the kind of person that always kept me on my toes. Idk why he thought is was fun to mess with me but he loves to, little things like messing with my facebook or getting my dad in on a joke they were going to play on me. He was always at our house and always laughing about something or making us laugh about something .I'm not sure what my life would be like without Dos, he was a brother I never asked for but and am forever grateful for. The only thing that brings me joy now is that jimmy and Anders are up there joking and laughing forever.

I never knew how Anders came up with half the things he said, but it was always hilarious. The amount of joy and happiness that he brought to everyone around him was undeniable. Your presence will be missed dearly. Rest easy, my friend.

Growing up on Kilburn, Anders was always the cool older kid on the block. He would always make an effort to include me when frog hunting in the woods or playing soccer in the backyard. When I could, I would sneak over to the Reed household where Anders introduced me to the Nintendo64 and SuperSmash Bros. I never beat him once. Eventually, to my dismay, my mom would call me home. Anders assured me I could come back and play whenever I wanted. I was always thankful for his kindness and compassion at such a young age.

I met you a couple of times at work and I know you had a difficult task ahead of you as a new employee.  The last time I spoke with you I handed over the extra folders that were left from when I was filling in before your start date.  It looked like you had the place in great shape.  I know your coworkers were happy to have you on their team and gave you high praise.  You will be missed.  I remember your kind smile!

I first met Anders when I moved to the same subdivision in the first grade. I don’t have many photos with Anders, which is not the worst thing considering we’d both probably be in even more trouble on top of  being suspended from throwing rocks at school lights back in middle school. Even though we never found out how we were discovered, but it was pretty cool nonetheless to see our names in the newspaper being referred to as “vandals.” Anders and I were almost always together with our friends growing up. It saddens me to admit that we somewhat fell out of touch over the years after going off into our separate colleges/careers, I have and will always cherish the how many special moments I have with Anders. He was one of my first friends. Countless memories from sneaking out, playing video games all night, playing air-soft guns in the cat tails behind his house, or even watching Anders push Matt Obstarczyk into his basement and accidentally breakthrough the drywall. Anders even brought me to a sing along choir service before Sunday catechism at our shared Lutheran church with Allison.

You were always in for a laugh being near Anders. Not too many people know this, but Anders really helped me through trying times with my family right after he moved back from Wisconsin. He fit into the wentzloff household like a glove and we loved him as a brother. There’s so many good sides of Anders and I’m happy to see he still had so many people care about him. 

I like to believe Anders is already up there doing what he does best. Bringing joy, cracking jokes, making our friend Dillion Cope laugh. Stay Strong Forever.

Our family and our children have had the pleasure of growing up across the  street from the Reed  Family!   We are Blessed to have been able to share so many wonderful memories with Anders.   We look back at so many fun childhood moments of the kids bouncing  from house to house …. playing basketball,  arcade games in the basement,  trick-or-treating,   And  Easter egg hunts in the back yard , exploring  in the back yard creek and adventurous trails and let’s not forget about our fun trip to skiing at Nubs!   Our hearts are broken hearing this news! We  we will treasure these memories forever!  Anders leaves a special memory & fun spirit in our hearts. God Bless Anders and his Family for making so many great memories with all of us! May God’s Peace & Grace  be with his family & all who loved Anders!  💙😇😇😇💙!

We are so sorry to hear and very sad. Anders was a great friend to Dillon. We have been talking and remembering with a smile and a heavy heart. Days at Brewster, on the playground, with so many other awesome, super kids.  Thinking of a picture of them at the one room school house field trip. Anders, what a wonderful smile and a  joyful personality.

Although we knew of each other in Rochester circles since we were 14, we had connected through Central Michigan University’s business fraternity when we were 19 and never looked back. We hit it off immediately and Anders wound up being one of my closest friends. We spent countless hours working hard on classes and then letting loose whenever we had the chance. He will always have a special place in my heart and his memory will always bring me happiness that I was able to spend the time with him that I could.

Getting away from the world and hiking through incredible nature trails was one of my favorite things to do with Anders.

We are so very thankful that Anders stepped into our lives through Alpha Kappa Psi.

Anders never failed to light up any environment that he was in to bring joy and laughter to all.

Words can’t express how saddened our entire friend group is by this loss. Anders definitely had a unique talent of keeping everyone laughing and on their toes, but he was also the first to congratulate you or let you know how genuinely happy he was for you. He was a non judgmental ear if you ever needed him, but also so quick to turn something mundane into the funniest experience of your life. This made Anders an irreplaceable friend and completely one of a kind. He will be missed so much.

There are no words to write that conveys how much I am saddened by the loss of Anders.
I truly believe that Anders was an angel here among us. 
He  had a unique feature that I've never seen in anyone that I know of have known, a distinct twinkle in his eyes that made me smile and physical, animated humor that made us bust out laughing.
I will hold on to this gift of happiness that he brought to my life and countless others who were blessed to have known him. His twinkle of joy will always live on in my heart. May you rest in peace angel.

Anders was part of an incredibly fun trip to Spain back in 2017. The amount of shenanigans and laughs we still get from that trip were mostly due to him. The biggest goof ball but the biggest heart ❤️ love him so much and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this time

Anders was the most kind hearted, genuine person I knew. He would come visit Chicago from time to time, and would always make a point to see each other. Even when not around, he would check in periodically - always ending his chats with “miss you a lot! love you!”. He was one of my most cherished friends, and I will miss him so much. Love you and miss you Ders 🤍

Anders was one of my first friends right out of college when working at Amazon. Once he came back after his year off, he told me I was one of the few people he actually remembered meeting during that time - although my name was “some random amazon girl” in his phone. For years after we would chuckle about that.
