Alfred Adolf August Sievers, age 84, of Washington Township, Michigan, passed away Monday, November 6th, 2023. Al was born February 7, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest of three children, to Max and Alice (Mortenson) Sievers. Al graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1956 and went on to earn his Engineering degree from Western Michigan University. After graduating from college, Al lived in Europe for two years to work and travel, and then returned to Michigan to work with his dad at his company, Expert. In the 1970s, Al and his brother, Robert, started Motion Manufacturing in Detroit; Al retired in the early 2000s.
On August 2, 1968, Al married his loving wife, Georgia Lee Miller. Together they raised their three children, Michele, Scott, Jay, in their home (a renovated one-room schoolhouse) in Washington Township. Al and Georgia hosted many Christmas Eve parties with their extended families to ensure they "gifted" everyone with memories to carry dear in their hearts. Al was a loving son, beloved husband, adored father and grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend to many.
Al was a longtime member of St. John Episcopal Church in Dryden, Michigan, and had strong faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Al was a good man, with a huge heart, and he gave his attention to anyone who needed it. Al was very proud of his children and grandchildren, giving them encouragement and accolades when needed.
Al is survived by his caring and loving girlfriend, Linda Neros; daughter, Michele (Brad) Bigelow of Greenville; sons, Scott (Shanen) Sievers of Rochester, and Jason (Heather Mennell, girlfriend) Sievers of Acme; sister, Karen (Karl) Pfister; grandchildren, Danielle (Stephen) Hilliker, Allison Bigelow, Savannah Sievers, and Skylar Sievers; sister-in-law, Judy (Frank) Plecas, sister-in-law, Sharon Gennick; brother-in-law, Stephen Gennick, many nieces, and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Georgia; parents, Max and Alice Sievers; brother, Robert Sievers; mother and father-in-law (Grace and Steve Gennick); sister-in-law (Aura Gennick).
Al’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. until noon at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral service will be held the same day at 1 p.m. at the Chapel at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 621 West Long Lake Road in Troy, Michigan.
