Maria Luisa Hernandez Toscano of Orange Grove, Texas was sent to her eternal home on Wednesday, April 2, 2024 at the age of 88. She was born on August 25, 1936 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. She emigrated to the United States in early 1970 where she worked as a Caregiver/Housekeeper and was an active member of Saint John of the Cross catholic church until she was diagnosed with Dementia in late 2008.
Maria Luisa is survived by 3 daughters (Amalia, Juana, Gloria, Rosa), 2 sons (Jesus & Jaime) and 2 sisters, Eduarda Hernandez and Josefina Hernandez; 13 Grand children, 16 Great Grand Children and 7 Great Great Grand children. Maria Luisa found joy in preparing meals for family gatherings for holidays and any occasion delighted her, especially when it included lots of chocolate! She loved “tequila shots” and drinking beer with the family. We ask that you remember her for the profound impact her life had on those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Those who knew her will remember her for her love to music and standing up to dance at any family gathering with her “signature known move” hands on her waist. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
The pain of her absence is unbearable, an ache that time cannot mend. Maria’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and loving her.
Her journey on Earth has ended but she has been welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father in Heaven, where she is reunited once again with her beloved mother (Guadalupe), her daughter (Rosa), her daughter-in-law (Diana), her sisters (Angela, Maria Celsa, Cuca and Luz) and her 2 brothers (Jesus and Juan).
Maria Luisa leaves behind a heartbroken family who will forever carry her memory. Our beloved Maria, your love, your laughter and your spirit will never fade and never be forgotten.
The family invites all who loved Maria Luisa to come together to honor her memory, share their sorrows and celebrate the life of a woman who gave so much unconditional love to all whom she interacted with.
