Cora Sue Lowman

Cora Sue Lowman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and much, much more passed away on March 3rd, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1935 in Breckenridge, Texas to Morris Angus Gray and Clara May Gray. Her birthday was on the first day of spring, which was fitting for her bright personality that always seemed to spring with joy.

Cora Sue’s family moved to Calallen when she was starting grade school, and she went on to graduate from Calallen High School in 1953 as valedictorian of her senior class. She was active in her school community and played every sport she could. It was in high school that she met her future husband, Bruce Lowman. They got married on June 14th, 1954, and had four children- Mike, Linda, Travis and Jolyn. Cora Sue enjoyed having everyone at her house, and always made sure whoever came by was well fed before they left. She loved being in a rocking chair on the front porch with a cup of black coffee in her hand with her overweight dachshunds by her side or on her lap.

Cora Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Clara Gray, her siblings, Jonell Hall and Jerry Gray, and her son, Bruce Michael Lowman. She is survived by her children, Linda Anise Lowman Martini (Roy), James Travis Lowman, and Marsha Jolyn Lowman, grandchildren Brandon Bridges, Brian Bridges, Wade Lowman, Trey Lowman, Shane Lowman, Brad Lowman, Sharee Weaver, Brandee Lowman, Aimee Lowman, Forrest Lowman, Taylor Wiggins, Halen Lowman, and several great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend services in honor of Cora Sue at Memorial Park Funeral Home on March 10, 2025 beginning at 12:00 pm with a visitation and slide show. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
