Lois “Memaw” Purdy was an amazing, loving and caring woman who adored babysitting for over 60 years, and loved spending as much time with her family and friends as she could. Along with being a devoted Christian, who assumed an active role in church for many years, Lois loved attending church and adored her church family.
Lois had the biggest heart. She would always light up the room and made everyone feel loved and welcomed into her home. Her family was everything to her, she was very proud of everyone, and she made it known how much she loved us all.
Lois was called home to be with her husband Kyle on September 17, 2024 (91 years). She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Oakley Massey, son Harold “Steve” Hale, and her sister, Freda Tolley. Lois is survived by her daughters, Patricia Hale, Vickie Yates, and, Sandi Hagy (Carla). She is also survived by her grandkids, Michelle & Joshua Pressley, Dwayne Hale (Mandie), Randy Yates, Andy Yates; along with her great-grandkids, Elizabeth Pressley, Jennifer Pressley, Savannah Pressley, Gillian Hale, Cooper Hale, Carter Hale, Tiffany Yates, and Dylan Yates. Lastly, Lois is survived by close family; Lisa Wise and Sarah Brant. Lois was also blessed with many loving church friends.
Although the world will never have another “Memaw” like her we are all very blessed to have known her, loved her, and been a part of her time here on earth.
All services will be held on Saturday, September 28th. Viewing will start at 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, and graveside committal at 2:00 pm.
We invite everyone to come say their goodbyes to Memaw, the one who helped raise us all.
