Robert Lee Rugg

Lee was born on May 25, 1946 in Murray, Utah to Reta and Alvin Clavon Rugg. Lee graduated from Murray High School in 1964, Salt Lake Community College and served in the Army National Guard. He married Pamela Burgon, November 17, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in many places together, in 1976 Lee and his father Alvin built homes side by side in Draper where they joyfully raised Travis, Traer and Heidi. No matter the challenges, we all survived.

Lee was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a mission to the Central Atlantic states (Virginia and North Carolina) and fulfilled many leadership positions. He enjoyed many careers as a jack-of-all trades, most notable was as a firefighter with Salt Lake County Fire Department. After retiring from the Fire Department, Lee and Pam (and kids) owned and operated the Draper Taco Time for many years.

Lee enjoyed every outside adventure with his kids and grandkids, RV'ing, camping, 4-wheeling and much more. He loved trips to the Grand Canyon with his kids, grandkids and extended family, "off roading" and mudding on his electric cart (new legs).

For many years Lee spent his free time with Traer completing projects, repairs, creations and home improvements. He could always be found by Traer's side supervising, advising and participating. He lit up when his grandchildren, niece and nephews stopped in to visit. Knowing Lee meant that you knew he couldn't sit still for long.

Lee is survived by his wife Pam, children: Travis (Jenny) Draper, Traer (Nicole) Draper, and Heidi (Robin) Cedar City; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Siblings: Kay, Joe, Sharon and David. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Reta, siblings: Clavon, Mary Ellen (George), Richard (Carol) and Beth (Pink).

There will be viewings on Friday, March 14th from 6 pm - 8 pm and Saturday, March 15th from 10 am - 11:45 am. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15th from 12 pm - 1:30 pm. Services will be held at the Draper Stake Center located at 13085 South 300 East, followed with his interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, located at 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah.
