He was born on January 26, 1936 to Elijah and Goldie Beal in Chariton, Iowa. As a child he attended the Iowa School for the Deaf and graduated in 1956. On a visit to Arizona in 1957 he met his sweetheart and future wife, Janice. They were married 65 years and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple with their children in 1969 for time and all eternity. He is survived by his wife Janice, and his children: Twana, Darrell (Kristina), Wendy (Terry), and his grandchildren Bradley and Hillary.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Robert served as a Phoenix Deaf Group Leader and Branch President, as well as on the High Council for the Phoenix, Arizona Stake. Robert and Janice also served as temple workers at the Mesa Temple for the Deaf members. One of their greatest passions was family history. Robert and Janice served a family history mission at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Graveside and Internment services will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley, 13001 S. 3600 W. in Riverton, Utah on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, at 11:00 am. Flower arrangements can be made through Garden of Elegance (801-718-8300).
