Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Raymond Scott Allred passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side and was welcomed back to his Heavenly Father the morning of June 14, 2019 in Loa, Utah. Ray enjoyed his last fishing excursion on the night of June 13th, where De asked how was fishing? Ray remarks back well I only caught 2 fish, to say the least he was disappointed.
Ray was born on December 17, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Ray LaMar Allred and Loeta Bagley Allred.
Ray grew up in Sandy, Utah and attended Jordan High School and Salt Lake Community College.
Ray was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a Mission in Chicago and served in various church positions. Ray married his sweetheart De (DeAnna) Call in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 13, 1981 then a year later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple August 14, 1982.
He worked for Management Systems Corporation (MSC), Albertson’s, and at the time of his death he was working for Unisys in Information Technology. He loved building and fixing computers and shared his knowledge by helping others.
From the young age of 10, he started tying flies and loved to fish which turned into a lifelong passion that he shared with his wife, family, friends, and any struggling fisherman. At the time of his passing he worked for The Quiet Fly Fisher in Loa, Utah as a personal tour guide where people would book a year ahead so that Ray could be their guide. He also worked at Cabela’s in the fishing department.
He spent a lot of time at the Rad Canyon BMX track when his daughters were racing. There was never a time that a kid was unable to race because Ray would step in and provide whatever they needed.
Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of almost 37 years, De. His 4 children, Ryan Ray (Brenda), of Magna, Carey DeMont (Angel) of Grantsville, Heather Elliott (Ian) of Murray, Hollie Allred of Murray and sister Mary Ann Woods (Jack) of Georgia.
