Nancy Joan South Brown, age 85, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 4:15pm in Murray, Utah. She was born on June 9, 1933 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois to Othelo South and Alice Beaver South.
She married Gordon Jack Brown, Jr. on August 30, 1957 in Crown Point, Indiana. As a busy mother with seven children, they fondly remember many family camping trips, her favorite location being Bass Lake in Indiana. The family would load their tent and supplies into the boat with Gordon’s handmade storage box and hit the road. Her children also recall her crafting and knitting, creating a loving home.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Othelo South, Alice Beaver South, and son: Joseph Samuel Brown. Nancy Joan Brown is survived in death by her husband: Gordon Jack Brown, Jr., children: Susan Victoria Brown Jolley, Robert Allen Brown, Karen Louise Brown Eyre, Lori Lee Brown Bagnara, Gary Lindsay Brown, Gordon Jack Brown III, with fourteen grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Nancy was a loving and caring individual of whose warmth was felt by many. She will be missed and her memory cherished by those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6pm – 8 pm, also from 10 am – 10:45 am prior to her Memorial Services on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11 am at the Murray 25th Ward House located at 160 East 4600 South, Murray, Utah 84107.
Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
