Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, son and friend, Michael Adelbert Hart, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2023, at the age of 68 years old in Salt Lake City, Utah. Michael was born December 18, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Adelbert William Hart and Helen Smith Hart.
He developed a love for baseball from an early age and was devoted to his beloved New York Yankees as a life-long fan. His love of baseball continued throughout his life as he coached his children helping them improve their baseball skills. After high school, Michael served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan and upon returning to Salt Lake City he attended the University of Utah earning a business degree.
Michael was a dedicated, hard-working individual that would do anything for his children and family. He had a love for music and was a professional piano tuner. He used that love of music to make a living as the co-owner of Hart Bros Music.
Michael met Jody McGowen Hart later in life and they fell in love. They were married on Michael’s birthday, December 18, 2005, in St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his children: Tiffany (Matthew) Keiko Hart Schmidt, Heather Catherine Hart Du Priest, Michael (Nicole Setliff) Scott Hart, and Kyle (Rachel Driscoll) Scott Hart; 5 grandchildren: Gavin, Austin, Gabriella, Audrey and Theodore; and sister, Kathy (Doug) Peirce. Michael is preceded in death by his wife Jody McGowen Hart; sister, Melodee Hart; brother, Richard Hart and his parents.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 4, 2023, 11:00 am at the Wilford Stake Center, 1765 East 3080 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. A family viewing will be held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the church. Interment to follow the services at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
