He was generally known as Mac, however he was called many names throughout his life signifying the different roles he has played in all of our lives. To some he was known as hon or honey bunches, to others he was known as Grandpa, Dad, Son, Brother, Frisch, Bishop, Elder, and many more. No matter what we called him he has and will always hold a special place in each and every one of our hearts.
He was born February 25, 1962, in Salt Lake City Utah to Gail Jean Hutchison and Donald J Frischknecht. At the age of 19 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Thailand, Bangkok Mission.
Shortly after he returned home from his mission he started dating his best friend's sister, Tania Lythgoe. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple June 13, 1985 for time and all eternity. She was his Queen and he never failed to make that known wherever and whenever he could, in word and in deed.
He went to Utah State University and graduated from the University of Utah in mathematics, then later obtained his Master’s degree. He pursued a career in teaching math and did so for 30 years, blessing the lives of countless individuals at Enterprise, Alta and Riverton High School. He loved getting involved and spent much of his early teaching years coaching football, track, soccer, wrestling and powderpuff football. To many, if not most, he also served as a life coach/mentor and was a lighthouse to many who were facing troubled waters with no one to turn to for direction.
Mac served as a Bishop for the LDS church and did so valiantly. He gave his all in the service of God and that of others. He was an inspired man who truly sought after the will of the Lord in everything he did.
"Don't forget my blood type" he would say, "B+". May we never forget his blood type and positive outlook on life. He truly will stand as a beacon to all who strive to be a good person, a good husband and a good father. “Marriages don't work, you work for your marriage,” and he proved that to all of us by how he treated his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife: Tania Frischknecht, his children: Caleb (Kayla) Frischknecht, Tyson Frischknecht, Parker (Kira) Frischknecht, Nataya (Eli) Fielden, Rebecca Frischknecht. Granddaughter: Kiarra Frischknecht, his mother: Gail Jean Hutchison, his brothers: Gregory (Vicki) Frischknecht, Jay (Sandy) Frischknecht, Wade (Linda) Frischknecht, and sister: Phyllis (Norvil) Dallin. He was preceded in death by his father: Donald J. Frischknecht.
There will be a visitation held in the auditorium of Riverton High School Thursday February 8th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral will be held on February 9th 2018 and will be located in the LDS Stake Center at 3113 West 13400 South Riverton, Utah 84065. The funeral will start at 12:00pm with a visitation 2 hours prior, and he will be buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park - South Valley in Riverton.
