just 5 days short of her 81st birthday when she was called home to be with our Lord on April 19,
2023. Sylvia was born of humble beginnings to Sybil and Rubin Davis in 1942 in Anadarko,
Oklahoma.
At 14 years old she decided to move with her sister Vera to California. California is ultimately
where she met the love her life Bob Jackson, who coincidentally was also a native of Oklahoma.
Bob and Sylvia were married on June 26, 1959. Their blessed union spanned some 61 years
before Bob was called home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2021. The union of Sylvia and
Bob produced 5 children, Sheila Powers, Robert Jackson Jr., Bryan Jackson, Lynn Jackson and
Ronald Jackson who all have survived her passing. The family has continued to grow, and at
the time of her passing, Sylvia has 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sylvia was a beautiful, kind, caring, fun, youthful woman who doted and focused all of her
energy on family. She was very involved in her children's lives, from sewing their clothes to
working at their schools so she could be close to them. Whenever one of her children needed
her she was there to support them. She was at the core of her being a strong woman of God.
She gave, sacrificed and loved so deeply that you couldn’t help but feel drawn to her presence.
She adored having grandchildren and truly gave them all of her energy and love. She would
attend every major event in their lives growing up and would always show up with a camera to
ensure she documented those memories. From home videos to about 100 photo albums she
made sure to collect memories.
Sylvia, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was the cornerstone of the family and
will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.
