Sandy, 81, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in her own home that she so warmly opened the doors to many during her years.
Sandy was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on August 8, 1941 to Lester and Velma Moore. She and her family moved several times while growing up before settling in Southern California in 1964.
She loved to travel. In her early 20's she toured Washington DC, New York City and parts of Europe. Later, she and her husband, Larry, traveled the U.S., visiting all 50 state capitals, many with their grandchildren. At the age of 50, Sandy and Larry moved overseas, living in South Korea for over 3 years. During that time they spent 6 weeks in England, her favorite country to visit.
Sandy enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, star-gazing, movies, yard sales, shopping, and arts and crafts. She loved nature, her own garden served as an oasis for wildlife and the many birds she fed faithfully. An avid animal lover, Sandy had many pets over the years.
Her greatest love was her family. Whether hosting Thanksgiving Day Dinner with her famous noodles, playing Bingo at Christmas, face-timing with grandchildren, visiting in-person, or on the phone, she always made her family feel loved.
She is survived by her husband of 58 plus years, Larry, their children Rob (Ginny) Pendleton, Sherri (Troy) Chaney, and Alissa (Jim) Milbourne. Sandy was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Michael (Nevada) Pendleton, Marisa (Travis) Barzee, Samantha (Matthew) Villanueva, Steven Pendleton, Mackenzie Chaney, Peyton Milbourne and preceded in death by Tyler Milbourne and 5 great-grandchildren: Presley, Addie, Salem, Leo and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Linda) Moore and many nieces and nephews.
