Ruth was born July 10, 1922 to her mother, Cathryn and her husband Lorenz Prader.
Her mother unfortunately passed away at an early age and her dad was a strong figure in her life. He was a postman and was so loved by the people in his route that the post office put a statue of his dog on his route. He was very loving and caring and Ruth had his attributes. John 13:34 is the scripture that sums up Ruth’s life. Jesus said “So now I am giving you a new commandment, love each other just as I have loved you and you should love each other.” Mom put into practice those words of Jesus.
Ruth excelled in everything she did; from baking cakes, riding bicycles, playing golf, baseball and home schooling and driving the kids and cousins to the beach.
Her heart was to help everyone and she shared her love for the Lord to all. She had a class of teenagers that she taught in Sunday school and every Sunday night she took a car load of them to La Palma’s drive-in for tostadas. She even took her class camping up in the mountains. She was a spiritual guide and loved everyone in her class and their lives were changed by her influence. Her church class loved her. She continued to reach out to everyone until she died.
Her passions were to share Jesus with everyone and be an example to her husband and children. Her favorite sayings were “One day at a time" and “See you here, there or in the air”.
It was a beautiful home coming with her grandson, Fred III and his wife Michelle, singing worship songs to her while her husband Fred was holding her hand. Fred Sr. said ”I was holding her hand as Jesus entered the room and she took Jesus’s hand and went to be with Him”. She ran a good race for over a 100 years. Our prayer was that Jesus would come down and wrap his arms around her and take her to the home He has prepared for her and our prayer was answered. She is walking, leaping and praising God in heaven with her daughter, Linda and her father, mother, sisters and all of those she shared Jesus with. Currently she is trying out for choir director and we won’t know if she got the job until we get there ourselves.
Ruth lived a full life married to Fred Waugh for 81 years. They travelled the world together yet she always had a very humble spirit. She always surrounded herself with her family and friends where she felt most comfortable and loved. She never met a stranger that she didn’t exhibit Jesus’s love to and shared His love for them.
She is survived by her loving husband Fred Sr. and her son, Fred II (Vonis) and grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren!
There will be a celebration of life service held for Ruth at 2PM on Jan 14, 2023 at Christ Chapel 2882 Arlington Ave, Riverside, California. There will be reception and a sharing time after the service.
Special thanks to Acheson and Graham at Garden of Prayer for all of their help arranging the details of this celebration.
Ruth personally picked this mortuary because of the beautiful statue of Jesus holding the lamb (Ruth) in His arms among the flock.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AchesonandGraham.com for the Waugh family.
