RUTH M. DE LA CRUZ, age 74, was born on November 15, 1940 in Manila, Philippines, and passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2015, in Riverside, California. Ruth spent most of her young life in Quezon City, Philippines, until she emigrated to Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, a few years after her graduation from nursing school in 1963. She soon moved to the United States where she worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Benny de la Cruz; her three children, Cynthia de la Cruz of Los Angeles, California, Belinda McDonald of Riverside, California, Raoul de la Cruz of Athens, Georgia; her three grandchildren, Lillian, Evan, and Julia McDonald; and her brother, Dr. Ernesto D. Madarang of Kennewick, Washington. She was preceded in death by her son, Benedicto M. de la Cruz, Jr. She will be missed deeply and will be forever in our hearts.
