Richard was the last surviving son of Joseph and Josephine Carpena Trujillo. He was the last member of the 4th generation of the Manual Lorenzo Trujillo family. Richard and his eight brothers and sisters were all born at home in what was known as "la Placita de Trujillo," or Spanish Town.
He lived in Riverside for 93 years and he attended the Trujillo Elementary School, University Heights Jr. High, and Poly High, before joining the military at the beginning of WWII.
He worked for the Gage Canal Water Co. (22 yrs.), Griffen Steel Co. in Colton, CA (17 yrs.), Hanford Foundry, in San Bernardino (8 yrs.), and continued working long into his 70's part time at the Corona Public Library.
He attended mass at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Grand Terrace.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Angelita M. Trujillo, daughters, Vivian Gonzalez (John); Helen Linares (Ralph); 4 grandchildren: Kym Brackett, Ralph R. Linares, Lisa Hara, and Paul Gonzalez; 5 great-grandchildren; Spencer & Julianne Bracket, Sofia & Olivia Hara, and Lauren Linares.
