Nancy Joanne Woods, to most known as "Jody", was born April 12, 1954 in Seattle, Washington to William and Nancy Efford. The youngest daughter of three, Jody spent her childhood living in Washington, Arizona, and California.
Jody worked as a young adult as a nurse assistant caring for disabled children and the elderly. In the early 1970's she met her future husband and soon married Daniel Woods. In 1982, she gave birth to her only daughter, Kimberly.
Jody’s career migrated from healthcare into Aerospace management, for which she worked many years. Jody enjoyed spending her extra time with her family traveling across the country to various Skeet Shooting Competitions, until later years when she would accompany her daughter at Softball Tournaments across the states. During her off-season weekends, you would find Jody in Huntington Beach at her sister Deborah's home sometimes planting a garden, or just spending some time together.
In 2001, Jody became a proud grandmother to her first grandson, Jhourdan. It was around this time that Jody began traveling across the country with her husband Dan and hunting dog Buddy, falling in love with certain vacation spots such as Whidbey Island in Washington and Coeur d'Alene in Idaho. She would often stroll the beach side collecting various seashells, sand dollars, and other homemade mercantile from vendors at the local street fair's. This is where Jody's love for the ocean began.
Jody was blessed with her second grandchild, Jhillian, in 2003 and again with her third and fourth grandchildren-twins in 2007, Jayce and Braiden.
Jody loved her family very much and was considered the backbone or foundation of our family. She offered strength; often putting others needs before herself. She spent many of her recent years ensuring everyone in her family was happy, healthy, and thriving. In 2015, Jody was diagnosed with Melanoma. Although she conquered the battle, it was not until after her husband passed away, after over 40 years of marriage, that the cancer returned and Jody was called home to our Heavenly Father.
Jody is survived by her daughter Kimberly Bober, and grandchildren Jhourdan, Jhillian, Jayce and Braiden. She is also survived by her mother Nancy Manning and sister Deborah Sullivan, sister Linda Lloyd, niece Stacia and great nephew's Dorrin and Daylan. She will forever be missed and will always be in our hearts.
