Milton Holecek loved the Lord above all else. He radiated joy, brought smiles to all, and made friends everywhere he went. He was a wonderful compilation of the best qualities; he lead a life of integrity wrapped in an infectious sense of humor. When you talked with Milton, he listened in a way that made you feel special, and you were guaranteed to laugh.
Born August 22, 1961, Milton was a proud graduate of Downy High School and Northwestern College Iowa majoring in Biology/General Science. He put his education to work in his position as Operations Assistant at Xtra Lease where he enjoyed his work and special friendships with his co-workers. But his formal education did not prepare him for what came next!
On June 22, 1996, Milton Holecek’s world turned upside down. On a blind date, Milton met Jennifer Gardner and never looked back. They had a big church wedding and grand, fun-filled reception on October 18, 1997, but this was only the beginning of their amazing love story. They soon welcomed their beautiful daughter Jessica and declared their family complete when Garret made four. Milton loved Jennifer with his whole heart and his children were blessed to have both his example and abundant love. Milton did EVERYTHING for his family.
Milton was a self-proclaimed Disney freak. He was always happy to be at Disney with his family and special Disney friends. If you follow him on Facebook, you are aware of his big passion for Disneyland trash cans but his interests don’t stop there. Milton enjoyed smoking meat and advancing his bar-b-que expertise. Garrett affirms that everything he cooked tasted as good as it looked. And Milton loved NASCAR. At the track or following from afar, he enjoyed the roar of engines and the flash of speed.
Milton, a brave and positive five-year cancer survivor, passed away on August 27, 2020. The world is dimmer without the bright light of his life, but there is peace in knowing he is home with his Savior.
