Michael Anthony Piazza was born on June 22, 1955 in San Bernardino CA. and passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. He was 57 years old. Mike is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen; father, Francis Piazza; mother, Nancy Anthony; two sisters, Julie and Christine; brother, John, Aunt Patricia, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mike worked in Aerospace at Hughes Aircraft Ground Systems Group (GSG), Fullerton CA for almost 20 years. Additional careers included Process Server, Accounting-Bookkeeper, and recently a K-12 Language Arts/Math Tutor.
Mike enjoyed school and excelled at Fullerton College and California State University Fullerton, earning an Associate of Arts (Paralegal), Bachelor of Arts (Business Administration), Associate in Science (Accounting), and two achievements on the Dean's Honor List.
Military duty took Mike to the United States Army Amor Center at Fort Knox Kentucky. As a PFC he earned praise as a tank instructor.
Mike had a passion for live music which lured him to many rock concerts. His favorite bands included Led Zeppelin and the Moody Blues. He had a lifelong love of VWs and Porsche cars. All animals had a special place in Mike’s heart. This was apparent with the rescue, adoption, and care of dogs and many cats. Mike could not stand to see any animal suffer. His own personal wellbeing would take a back seat when it came to caring for an injured cat or dog. Mike rescued five tiny kittens at Karen's workplace and tirelessly bottle fed them. The kittens are now healthy, sassy seven year olds.
Mike's sudden passing leaves an ache that will be a long time in healing. He had a big heart and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
