Mario S. Munoz of Riverside, CA passed away Saturday, April 4th, 2015. Mario was 78 years of age. He was born January 19th, 1937 in Wilmington, CA to Francisco and Maria Munoz. He is survived by his wife; Gloria (Brady) Munoz, 5 daughters; Andrea, Christine, Felice & Teresa of Riverside, CA and Regina of Ashland, OR, 4 sons; Frank of Ft. Worth TX, Mario of Alamorgordo, NM, Daniel and wife Rissely of Anaheim, CA and Roman of Vacaville, CA, 3 sisters; Helen Gray of Seal Beach, CA, Mary and husband Rogelio Lozano of San Antonio, TX and Lupe and husband Bill Roberts of Palm Desert, CA, 8 grandchildren; Naomi and husband David, Danny Boy and wife Jeanette, Lil’ Mario, Paul, Joshua, Michael, Sarah and Bryan, 1 great-grandchild; Lil’ Danny, 1 aunt; Teddy Maldonado, 3 sister-in-laws; Ramona Jarrett, Delia Brady & Suzanne Owens, 5 brother-in-laws; Johnny, Paul, Ronnie and Alan Brady, Manuel Garcia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by son, Edward, father Francisco, mother Maria, brother Ignacio (Nacho), sisters Margaret Munoz, Vicky Garcia, and Nellie Barycki.
Mario graduated from St. Anthony High School in Long Beach CA in 1956. That same year he married the love of his life, Gloria Brady. Mario worked at American Can Co. in Carson, CA where he made many friends. He retired at the young age of 55. He & Gloria spent most of their lives in Wilmington but moved to Riverside in 2003. Mario loved to play golf, take walks in the park and work in his yard. He took much pride in his garden, especially his avocado tree. He checked on it daily and gave it the love that he is known for giving. Mario was a hard working family man. He was patient, generous, gentle, loving and funny. He loved spending time with family and friends and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Mario will be missed by all who knew him. Losing him is heart breaking but knowing he is at peace with God comforts us all.
Rosary for Mario will be held on Thursday, April 16th at 6:00p at Our Lady of Perpetual Help located at 5250 Central Avenue Riverside, CA 92504. Mass will be held on Friday, April 17th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help followed by burial service at Pierce-Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary located at 11500 Arlington Avenue Riverside CA, 92505.
