Linda Runelle Stevens

September 21, 1942 - April 4, 2018

Linda was born in Tulare, California on September 21, 1942. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James “Jim” Stevens, as well as her children, Donald Jones (Tricia), Denise Jones, Keith Jones (Nora) , Andrea Pierron (John) , Tim Stevens (Crystal) , Tom Stevens (Darlene) and Tracy Stevens (Chuck). She also leaves behind her sister, Lillian Hooper, her Aunt Dorothy LeClear, several nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who she was so proud of and loved dearly. Linda is preceded in death by her son, Eddy Stevens, her parents Ellen and Edward Horn, and her nephew Justin Dietrich.

Linda enjoyed many years of working as a Child Care Provider. She also spent several years as a preschool teacher while living in Hoople, North Dakota. Once she moved to California, she owned and operated her child care business and she felt so blessed to have had all these extra “kids” be a part of her life.

After retiring in 2002, Linda and Jim were able to enjoy several years traveling around the United States in their motor home. They made many friends along the way and had so much fun on the road together. They also took on jobs at various campgrounds in California and in Washington. Linda really enjoyed working at these campgrounds and getting to work with her friends.

Above all, Linda’s favorite thing was to spend time with her husband and the rest of her family. When she was younger, she always made sure to go all out and plan family get togethers so that everyone had a wonderful time. She loved having everyone together.

Throughout her life she enjoyed various crafts such as painting, sewing and card making, just to name a few. She also loved visiting with her friends.

She will be missed more than words can say.

Linda’s memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Riverside on April 11, 2018 at 1:00pm. The address is 5500 Alessandro Blvd.
