Words cannot describe on how I feel about you! I have been one of you're caregivers for almost 4 years it is been such a joy to take care of you! My friend Joseph Napoli an amazing man whom I was blessed to be his companion, friend, and caregiver. I'm honored to be a part of his family for the past 12 years. Joseph was a proud and loyal military man who loved his country. He was a devoted and loving husband to his amazing wife Marion who proceeded him in death. Joseph was the father to four outstanding and caring children, a loving grandfather, great and great great grandfather. His unconditional love for his family came first, so I was excited and thrilled when he would share his wisdom, adventures and family fun days with me. Joseph delighted in having friends and family gatherings. We had fun, food, a small teenie, and lots of laughter. Since the Lord called you to heaven my greatest joy are the happy and wonderful memories you shared with me. So today I say "thank-you and goodbye". I will miss you. I know your Father was deeply loved and well taken care of till his last breath.  I pray that you will take comfort in knowing he is where he wanted to be, with your Mother.  I also pray that when the sadness of his passing gets too great that you will be able to remember the good times with him, the sweet times and the loving times and know peace.

This week we are honoring the veterans of World War II in that it was seventy years ago that they secured a victory over Japan and the end of World War II.  At this time as our hearts are heavy with the loss of our comrade Joseph who participated in this victory we must never forget his contribution to our freedom. Unless one has been there one will never know the sacrifice that Joseph made for this country.  There is an old saying "Freedom has a taste to those who have fought for it that the protected will never know".  Joseph knew very well how freedom tasted as he fought for it. Throughout my years of being your caregiver, in the end it was you who took care of me. You taught me about courage, loyalty, commitment, and perseverance, and most importantly love of family and friends. It was the way you lived your life, dedicated to your God, Family, and Country that spoke volumes to me, and showed me what is truly important in life. These lessons occurred in the quiet mornings over the paper and a 3 1/2-minute egg, in the afternoons with coffee, biscotti, and the crossword puzzle, and at 5:00 with a Joe's Mix martini. You taught me from memory how to make veal cutlets, and I learned the hard way, never forget to salt the macaroni water (just 2 more minutes). 

Joseph, you have truly enriched my life, changed me forever, and I will never forget you. Thank you my dear sweet friend. May you rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

Thank you Teresa, Joanne, Joe, and Tom for sharing him with me and for treating me like family. I am forever grateful.

Tom, Joanne, Joseph, Teresa and families, 

I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Joe's   passing.  Although I hadn't seen him since 1984, I thought of him often.  He and your Mother were instrumental with me being able to link up with my natural Mother, and it was him being in the Air Force that encouraged me to not only join, but spend 24 years before retiring.  He'll be sadly missed by all.

Joseph is one of the reasons we are enjoying our freedom today because if it were not for individuals like him we would be living under the oppressors that he fought against.  Rest in Peace Comrade, you have fought the good fight and we salute you.  Semper fi.  Because of you I was able to achieve my dream.
