John is survived by his Wife Sheri, his Mom Bonnie Salazar, his Dad Ben Salazar, his Brother and Sister Michael and Carissa, his Nephew Ben and his Niece Lillie. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Roy and Grace Judson, Eloy and Delia Salazar, His Aunt Florence, Aunt Polly, and Uncle Lloyd.
John was born on February 11, 1971 in Downey, CA to Ben and Bonnie Salazar. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1989. He married Sheri Pendleton in July of 2019. John and Sheri shared a beautiful marriage together and were made to complete each other. Although he was only on this earth with her and his family for a short time, John made an impact on everyone he met. He was not only a loving husband but, a loving Son and Brother. John found a career later in life that he was absolutely excited about and could not wait to dive deeper into it.
John was the oldest of 3 children and loved both of his siblings immensely. John and Michael grew up together as they were closer in age and were always getting into trouble, but no matter how opposite they were John loved his brother and it showed as they grew older. They shared many moments together whether they were in trouble together or getting along for 5 minutes. John was always pushing Michael’s buttons as any older brother would do but they always knew they loved each other.
John and his sister, Carissa were further apart in age and he took on his role as the oldest big brother with great pride. Even though the difference in age was significant John always made sure to spoil his little sister when he could. They shared a lot of memories together going to county fairs, Disneyland, Knott’s, and many other places. They shared time enjoying concerts to see N’SYNC when his sister was younger. They both were born in the month of February and celebrated most birthdays together that they could. He was a loving and protective Big Brother to his Baby Sister.
When his nephew, Ben was born he was excited to be an Uncle for the first time. He loved to buy gifts during Christmas time for his nephew. He was always thinking of ways to tease him and give him a hard time but it was always in good fun. John loved Ben and looked forward to seeing him grow into the young man he is today.
When his niece Lillie was born he was a proud Uncle once again. He loved to spoil her with gifts and as she grew older he shared his love of Disneyland with her. They would go and take half days to spend at Disneyland and go on all the rides they could. He was always ready to make the drive if the two of them wanted to go to Disneyland.
John was very in Love with his Wife Sheri. His family could not be more ecstatic that he fell in love with her. He was ready to share his life with someone and chose the perfect person to do so with. Every month on the anniversary of their wedding he would make sure she knew he loved her with a small flower arrangement or special chocolates and candies. He was very thoughtful and loved to do little things to show his affection. He gained 3 brothers and 2 sisters as well as 18 nephews and nieces through Sheri’s family. He knew he was meant to be with Sheri for eternity. John was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an ordinance worker in the Redlands LDS Temple.
John also had a love for dogs and loved his baby Oso. John was always a dog lover and there was usually always a dog around while his was growing up at home. When he first adopted Oso he was so happy. After meeting Sheri, they added Duke to the family and he loved both Oso and Duke. John loved coming home to their little family. He spoiled those boys and gave them all his love.
John had a true love of family and loved each and every one of his cousins. He would spend many summers either in Southern California with his cousins or with his family and cousins in Taos, NM. He loved being around family and was excited when everyone was able to get together. He had a special relationship with each of his Aunts and Uncles. There was nothing he would not do for his family.
John will be missed by many. He definitely left his mark on the world and will live on in our hearts until we all meet again in Heaven. So, until then, it’s a see you later and never a final good bye. We know you are in Heaven celebrating with family and friends who have gone home before us.
We love you and miss you with all our hearts.
