JOHN LADD LASATER JANUARY 20, 1942 - DECEMBER 14, 2012 John passed away on Dec. 14th after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Brooklyn, NY but moved to Riverside 59 years ago. He graduated from Poly High School in 1960 and served in the US Navy for 4 years. In 1964, he married Susie Payne in Riverside and entered the apprenticeship of the IBEW, Local #440, where he was a member for almost 50 years. He started an electrical contracting company, Electro Tec, in 1980 and built it into a very successful business that built rock crushing plants all over the world. He had a love of cars, racing and built a sports car that won many awards and was featured in the centerfold of the exotic car edition of Playboy Magazine. His love of his family and friends and his wonderful sense of humor gave everyone around him so many years of pleasure and left us all with wonderful memories. He is survived by his daughters, Angela Jacobsen and Tina McDermott; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jake and Johnny Jacobsen; and his son-in-law, Sean McDermott. He is also survived by two brothers, Wallace and Clifford Lasater; two sisters, Dorothy Bettinger and Nevie Armstrong; and his mother, Mary Lasater. A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Lasater will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 27, 2012 at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary.
