James was born February 3rd, 1975 in Riverside, CA. At a young age he adopted the nickname Jimmy, which he went by throughout his life. As a child, Jimmy loved trips to IHOP with his Grandmother, playing hookie from school to go fishing and motorcycle riding as well as going to work with his father, Jim.
Most of Jimmy’s education was completed in Norco, CA where he was primarily raised. His education began at Norco Elementary. After competing elementary school, he moved on to Norco Intermediate. Upon completing middle school he began attending Norco High School. Jimmy transferred high schools during his senior year to Brown County High School located in Brown County, Indiana where he received his diploma and graduated along with his class of 1993.
Jimmy played a number of sports throughout his life, starting with baseball from the age of 6-14. Beginning in high school he played football as a freshman. During his sophomore and junior year he threw shot put for track and field as well as participated in the wrestling team. Apart from conventional sports activities, Jimmy was very much active in BMX racing. Jimmy had a variety of side activities he enjoyed doing, which included: Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Fishing and a deep love for music and dancing.
At the age of 16, Jimmy began working with his father at Ercoli Co., the family owned business. This led him down a career path in construction. In 1999, Jimmy found his calling as an Electrician which he had a passion for and succeeded in this field of work.
Above all else, Jimmy was an amazing father and loved his children more than anything. He is survived by his mother Beth Ercoli, father James Ercoli, three sisters: Karissa Ercoli, Sara Ercoli and Jenny Ercoli and also by his wife Amber Ercoli as well as his five children: James Joseph Ercoli III, born November 9th, 1993; Hailey Elizabeth Ercoli, born February 22nd, 2001; Jeremiah James Nazzareno Ercoli, born July 3rd, 2002; Breanna Rena Ercoli, born July 13th, 2007; Layne Joseph Ercoli, born February 2nd, 2012.
Jimmy touched those around him and made an impact on those he loved as well as those he barely knew. He had a way of bringing a smile to everyone’s face and his presence was uplifting to all. Although he had many ups and downs in life, he always loved God through any circumstance. This was apparent to all through his kind words and his positive attitude. He will be forever missed but cherished in our hearts and memories, forever.
