It is with great sadness that the family of JAMES BERNARD ‘JIM’ DAVIS announce his passing on March 21, 2018 at the age of 92. Jim, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, left us peacefully in his sleep at home in Riverside. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carmen, and his son, Michael, and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Caroline Hurd, son-in-law Michael, three grandchildren, James Hurd, Alexander Hurd (wife Monica) and Antonia Hurd, all from Stafford, VA. Jim was born on January 12, 1926 in Lakeport, CA. After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he graduated UC Berkeley and began his lifelong career in Fire Management, working for both state and federal agencies. Always busy, Jim was an avid outdoorsman, member of Uptown Kiwanis, Delta Chi fraternity, Gourmet Dinner Club, Riverside Opera Guild, served on the Grand Jury and the list goes on. There will be a Celebration of Life at All Saints Episcopal Church at 11:00am Tuesday, April 3, 2018. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to riversandlands.org
