JAMES BAUER After a long and courageous battle against cancer, James Bauer began his ultimate bicycle trek on August 20, 2013. Jim was born in December of 1949 and at the young age of 17 left home to serve our country in the United States Marine Corp. Jim loved airplanes and was honored to be a member of several squadrons but his final one, the Green Knights of VMA (AW) 121 and the A-6 Intruder they flew during his service, was the one closest to his heart. Jim served our country for 20 years and retired from the Corp as a Master Sergeant in 1987. Following his service, Jim joined Rohr Industries, which later became Goodrich and enjoyed another long career in the aviation field forming many strong and enduring friendships. During his time at Rohr/Goodrich he discovered bicycle riding, became an avid bicyclist and a member of a great group - The Cyclepaths.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Cindy; his sister Kathy; father-in-law Don; brother-in-law Donald (Deniece); sisters-in-law Michelle and Katey (David); nieces and nephews Becky, Michelle (Jeff), Rick, Dawn (Jeff), Kris (Anna), Skyler (Jennica), Colter, Jason and Dani, as well as 14 great nieces and nephews. His parents Joseph and Frances preceded him in death. Extended family: Shellie (Mark), Stephanie (Mike), Linda, Byron, Trent and Ashley.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank friends and the hospice team from Kaiser Riverside for all their support and care during this time - you were wonderful. Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming months. Semper Fi - Jim - You are loved and missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary (951) 688-1221. Please visit www.achesonandgraham.com to leave condolences.
