Goldie was my best friend in high school. She had so many good character traits, but my favorites were her accepting and forgiving attitude towards others. 

I was so honored to be her maid of honor when she married Gary.  She was my first choice to be my maid of honor.  Her calm presence was appreciated! 
                 
 I moved to Oregon and our contacts became  fewer over the years.  Yesterday, I went through some old cards and found a thank you from  Goldie after her cancer
treatment. I decided to get in touch and was heartbroken to find I was too late.
