As a young child moving to St. Louis, Missouri, his mother later met and married Harvey Euwing. His mother passed away early in his life, therefore leaving Harvey to raise Edward. Harvey later re- married to Lovie Mae Euwing. His stepparents continued to raise Edward through to his high school years until graduation from Vashon High School in St Louis in 1957. After graduation, Edward decided to move west ward to Southern California to begin his adult life.
He started working at Acme Linen Company, where a coworker, introduced him to his future wife, Lenora Naylor. That coworker later became his brother-in-law as he was dating Lenora’s younger sister.
On June 6, 1968 Edward and Lenora married and from this union, 2 children were born; Craig Stephan, and Michele Monique Brown.
As a mature adult, Ed accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, was baptized and became a member of Baldwin Hills Baptist Church, in Los Angeles, CA. Upon moving to Corona, CA in 1997, he became a member of Mount Zion Church of Ontario, CA where he worshiped until his health started to decline.
Ed was the epitome of a provider for his family. In March of 1968, he began his career at Western Airlines, later transitioning into Delta Airlines. Working for the airlines for the next 30 plus years, there were always memorable family getaways, and vacations.
Ed was a faithful, doting and devoted husband to his wife. He always put family first and set strong work ethic, and moral examples for his children. There was never a time his family wanted for anything. He was always front and center for his children’s parent/teacher conferences, piano, trumpet, dance lessons/recitals, football games, and graduations. He was even more proud when he became a grandfather.
As “PaPa”, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and flourish. He enjoyed teasing, laughing, especially feeding, and loving on each of them wholeheartedly.
Affectionately known by all as Eddie, Ed, Uncle Eddie, or Mr. Brown; but never Mister Ed. He always said “I hate being referred to as a horse, even if they are being respectful!”. There was not a person that he didn’t make smile, laugh or make a friend out of; whether it be at work, church, in his neighborhood, or at his favorite pastime hangout spot, the local Walmart. He will be affectionately remembered as a cake/bread baker, cobbler/cookie maker, practical jokester, storyteller, and avid “Los Angeles” Raider and Dodger fan.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years Lenora, son Craig (Mindy), daughter Michele (Michael Morgan-fiancé) 4 grandchildren; Jazmin, and Jonathan Tynes; Kelsey and Jayden Brown. Sister in law Shirley Burnett (Charles), brother in laws, Renza Lee Naylor, Jr *Buddy*, and Donald Naylor, Sr. 3 Godchildren, Nieces and Nephews, and a multitude of extended family friends.
