Dorothy Hoover peacefully passed away after a long illness related to Alzheimer's disease at Yorkshire Village, Hemet, California. She was born in Elvins, MO to Sybil and Abraham Willis. The family moved to Riverside, CA when she was 13 years old.
Dorothy worked for Bell Telephone in Riverside where she met and later married her loving husband, David Hoover. She served as a police dispatcher for Riverside County Sheriff Office and with the Corona Police Department, California. She and David enjoyed raising and showing champion Old English Sheepdogs. They also enjoyed collecting museum quality antiques and later opened a store named “David’s Antiques and Clocks” in Fullerton, CA. Their store was relocated to Hemet, CA as “Frey’s Antiques” and received several community awards for excellence. Dorothy was always a happy and giving person and she was loved by her friends, work associates and family.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to both Buena Vista Assisted Living and Yorkshire Village in Hemet, CA for their love and care of Dorothy while she battled this disease.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband David Hoover, daughter Debra Hoover and stepson David Ward (Hoover). She is survived by her son, Douglas Hoover in Utah, stepdaughter Karen Lowe of Coos Bay, OR, daughter-in-law Charlene Ward (Hoover), brother and daughter-in-law Terry & Diann Willis of Eugene, OR, grandson Zachary Hoover and granddaughter Kadie Hoover both in Idaho Falls, ID.
Dorothy will be laid to rest at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Riverside, CA alongside her husband David Hoover and daughter Debra Hoover.
