Clara Jessie Strikwerda-Vanderpool

Early on the morning of Thursday, June 15, 2023, Clara Jessie Vanderpool lost her hard fought 4 year battle with cancer. She conducted her fight with the tenacity of a warrior, but never lost her ability to smile like the admired princess she was. Clara's smile and beautiful eyes always lite up whatever venue or room she graced. Clara was a friend and frequently a trusted confidant to many who had the opportunity to know her.

Clara is survived by her husband of 36 years, Michael, (step) daughter Sarah Huckeba and her husband Scott; (step) son Scott and his wife Christine, four grandchildren, JT, Derek Huckeba and London and Bronx Vanderpool. Sisters Lena Lanum and her husband Jim; Diane Riezebos and her husband Garry, brother Rick Strikwerda and his wife Sharon, and Michael's sister Janet Spraker and her husband Craig. Several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, each of them confidently knowing of her love and respect for them.

Clara believed that you are happy because you chose to be happy. As a tribute to Clara, for her life well lived, live each day with a smile on your face - Just like Clara did.

A visitation for Clara will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2713 S Grove Ave, Ontario, CA 91761.
