Carolyn P. Williams was a light that shone brightly in this world. Born on July 9, 1950, to Ambrus Standifer and Mary Standifer Johnson in Los Angeles, she grew up alongside her only sister Brenda M. Pendergraph-Standifer embracing life in the City of Angels. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968, Carolyn embarked on a long successful career with Pacific Bell, later known as AT&T, starting as a telephone operator and trailblazing her way up to management. It was there she met her beloved husband and soulmate, Kenneth R. Williams. In the mid-1980s, Carolyn and Kenneth moved their family to Carson, California. As they raised their six children. Carolyn poured her heart into supporting them and volunteering for their activities. She also dedicated time to her local union, all while working and helping to raise her grandchildren. Her generous spirit led her to take on PTA leadership roles at her grandchildren's school after retiring from AT&T in 2000. There, she touched the lives of both staff members, children, and the community of Corona, California.
With twenty-seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Carolyn made sure to attend every special event - from births to birthdays, graduations to recitals and games. She showered every person she met with love and compassion, from neighbors to strangers in the store or airport. Her love will remain in our hearts forever. While we deeply mourn her passing, Carolyn leaves behind a beautiful legacy. She joins her parents Ambrus and Mary, a grandchild and niece in eternal rest. Carolyn leaves behind her devoted husband Kenneth, cherished children Lanee, Misha, Brandi, Shardai, Dereck, and Shaun. Her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One sister Brenda Onakoya, sons-in-love Tommy, and Joe, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Her memory will be a blessing, reminding us to live with kindness, grace, and generosity as she did.
