Carmen spent much of her youth in Riverside until she met her husband, Tony. They were married on July 25, 1953. During the first 20 years of their marriage, they lived as an Air Force family and explored new adventures outside of California. They traveled to France, Germany, and throughout the United States. After Tony’s retirement in October 1973 they settled in Riverside, California. Together they designed and built their forever home where many family gatherings and celebrations took place. Throughout their marriage as their family grew, Tony always affectionately called her “The Boss” but he always said he had the last word which was “Yes Dear!” She said the secret to her long marriage and happy life was that she had a good husband. They recently celebrated over 69 years of marriage. Carmen always said her finest blessing was spending time with her husband, daughters and their families and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
