Beulah "Bea" Burkerd

Beulah "Bea" Burkerd, 101 years of age of Riverside was born March 18, 1909 in Max, Nebraska, and passed away at Milam Manor in Colton August 5, 2010. Bea was a resident of Riverside for 28 years. She and her pre-deceased husband George were owners of a Pharmacy for many years. Bea also worked for Leibergs Department Stores for 20 years. Bea retired in 1983. Bea was a member of the Alhambra Presbyterian Church for over 30 years and attended Victoria Community Church which is now The Grove Community Church. Bea graduated from High School and a two year Business College.

Bea is survived by her daughter, Sharon Thompson of Riverside, her grandchildren; Kenneth Glenn Cole of Norman, OK, Michael George Cole of Moor park, CA., Julie Carole Mabini of Oceanside, CA., Vicki Jeanne Richmond of Riverside, Ronald Lanxter Thompson of North Carolina and Linda Sherry Palm of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by her 5 great grandchildren. Bea was pre-deceased by her husband, George in 1985, her brothers, Lee and Jewel Laughlin and her sister, Rosalie June Orth.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 13, 2010 at 2:30 pm at The Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Drive, Riverside. Memorial Contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Southern California.

Private Interment will be in Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, Riverside, CA. Services entrusted to Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, Riverside, CA.
