Claude Everett Martin, 84, of Evergreen Drive, Spencer died Wednesday April 25, 2012. He was born in Critz on December 25, 1927 to the late Charlie Martin and Mattie Kendrick Martin. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Italy. He was retired after more than thirty years with Hamco Apparel as their shipping room Supervisor. He was a member of Critz Baptist Church where he served as an usher.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Martin, one step-daughter, Robin Harris, one step-son, Mike Ramey, one sister, Grace Martin, two brothers, Clarence and William Martin, one niece, Wanda Coleman Hollandsworth and one nephew, Cleveland Junior Martin.
Surviving are one daughter, Beverly Eddins of Spencer and one son, Timothy Martin of Spencer and one sister, Ethel Coleman of Spencer, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Sanctuary of Critz Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hackler officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church beginning at 12: noon.
