William R. “Bill” Spreafico, 76 of Gluckstadt, MS, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 29, 2023 following a bravely fought battle with cancer. Bill was born in Lafayette, LA to Cleophus and Viola Spreafico. He was the oldest of three children with two younger sisters, Irma and Helen. At eight years old, his family moved to Lake Charles, LA where he spent the rest of his childhood into his adult life.
Bill attended LaGrange High School graduating in 1964. He continued his education at McNeese State University where he pledged Kappa Sigma. Bill was then drafted into the United States Army and went to OCS becoming an artillery officer. After serving his country, Bill was the manager at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor in Lake Charles for 11 years and was a sales agent for FMS in Jackson, Mississippi where he retired in 2018.
While in Lake Charles, Bill married the love of his life, Cheryl, in 1970. Some of his greatest joys were his children: Michael, Laurie, William Anthony “Tony”, and John. Bill and his family moved to the Jackson, Mississippi area in 1990 where they reside today. In 2000, he lovingly welcomed his step-grandson, Dale Long. Adding to his joy, he was blessed with two more grandsons, James Spreafico, in 2001 and Joseph “Joe” Spreafico in 2004. Bill was so proud of his grandsons, their accomplishments, love for life, and always enjoyed spending quality time with them.
