Harvey Hedgepeth, Jr., age 77, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in Ridgeland. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel on Highland Colony Parkway with burial to follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway.
Mr. Hedgepeth was born in New Orleans, LA on January 15, 1933. He served in the United States Navy as a physician assistant. He retired from Day Detectives as Vice President in 1999. While working with Day Detectives he formed the alarm division in 1969. Mr. Hedgepeth was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Hedgepeth, Sr.; his mother, Laura Lee Webb; and his son, David Hedgepeth.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna Loy Hedgepeth of Jackson, MS; step-mother, Kuma Hedgepeth of Byram, MS; two sons, Sonny Hedgepeth, III of Madison, MS and Alex Hedgepeth and his wife, Angela of Siloam Springs, AR; three daughters, Linda Caliri of Warren RI, Nancy Hedgepeth of East Providence, RI and Angela Rankin of Brandon, MS; one brother John Hedgepeth of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Judy Nicholson of Columbia, SC and Phillis Palmer of Jackson, MS; and 11 grandchildren, Erin Caliri, Lauren Caliri, Ashley Caliri, Trey Hedgepeth, Emily Hedgepeth, Laura Hedgepeth, Anna McLain, William McLain, Emma McLain, Courtney Marshall and Tatum Marshall.
