Ruby was born on November 13, 1922 in Water Valley, Mississippi, to Gaither Thompson Foshee and John William Foshee. She was a dedicated church member and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a good, kind and generous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Always stylish, her passions were entertaining, decorating and shopping with her family and friends. She worked at School Pictures, Inc. for 30 years, where she edited school portraits for quality and color.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughter: Vikki Kennedy Watkins (Robert); six grand-children: Hal Greer Pressgrove (Ramona), Kristen Pressgrove Lafhameyer (Mark), Kathleen White Sutten (Eric), Emily White Faure (Antoine), Charlotte Kennedy White and Richard James White; 10 great-grandchildren (ages 27 to 3 months); and 2 great-great grandchildren (ages 1 and 3).
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years: James Greer Kennedy, WWII Veteran; 2nd husband: Rev. Granville Hollis Gordon, WWII Veteran; daughter: Gloria Kennedy Pressgrove; son-in-law: Guy Alva Pressgrove; grandson: David Jason Pressgrove; 4 sisters: Vera Dean, Margaret Dean, Nancy Aven and Mary Henderson; 5 brothers: Dewey Foshee, Joe Foshee, Freddie Foshee, Chester Harrell and Harry Harrell; mother: Gaither Thompson Foshee; father: John William Foshee; and stepmother: Jimmy Mae Long Foshee. She loved her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and the many friends, most of whom passed before her.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS, on Saturday, November 19th at 2:00 pm; visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm; graveside will follow services; reception after the graveside at Funeral Home.
