Pauline was born in Edinburg, Mississippi, on September 14, 1923 to Iva and Van B. Tucker. She attended Deemer School, East Central Junior College, and Mississippi State University, where she graduated with a degree in Education.
Pauline married Dennis Seward, and together they had 3 daughters, Wanda, Sylvia, and Pam.
She worked as an elementary school teacher for 34 ½ years at numerous schools in Mississippi and Flint, Michigan.
She and Dennis acquired Dockery’s Food Store in Byram, Mississippi in 1960, where she assisted in management of this family business for 26 years.
Pauline enjoyed playing dominoes, card games, crafting, as well as watching the Atlanta Braves play. She was also a proud member of First Baptist Church of Byram.
She is survived by: her sister, Frances Selby, daughters, Wanda Drake, Sylvia Friedlander (Emil), and Pam Evans, grandchildren: Charlene Radic (Boyan), Adam Friedlander (Bridget), Dennis Drake, Emily Drake, Chad Evans, and Zachary Evans, and 3 great grandchildren.
Pauline was predeceased by: her mother, Iva Tucker, and father, Van B. Tucker, husband, Dennis William Seward, sister, Kathryn Richardson, brother, Van K. Tucker, and sister, Charlotte Beeland.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Byram on Friday, April 30th, 2021. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2:30pm at the church, with service beginning at 2:30pm.
