Niece Porter went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 26. She was born in Jackson, MS on November 27 (the year remains undisclosed and known to only a few select family members, LOL). She was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson and worked professionally as an administrative assistant for several years. She loved her family, friends, and grandchildren. One of her favorite hobbies was taking pictures of the family she loved. Her home was filled with pictures and volumes of photo books that reminded her of her precious loved ones. She was a faithful member of Pinelake Church, where she served faithfully for several years. She loved her Sunday school class and cherished the friends and relationships with her church family. Faith and Family were the cornerstones of her life and filled her life with joy and fulfillment. One of her life long dreams was to meet Regis Philbin and take a picture with him; she accomplished this dream as well as many others during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Farmer and sister, Katherine.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil E. Porter, Jr.; her son, Johnny Haddad; daughters, Pam Glover (Jeff), and Paige Sims Whitman (Marcus); and grandchildren, Henry Glover, Hope Lamberson, Joel Sims, Porter Glover, Matt Glover, and Kathryn Whitman, and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30. Visitation at 11 a.m. with funeral at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to Pinelake Church in the name of Niece Porter or the American Cancer Society.
