Jean was born in Mize, Mississippi on March 11, 1928 to Alfred D. Sullivan and Annie Allen Sullivan. She attended Mize High School, where she played basketball and graduated in 1945. She then moved to Jackson where she met her future husband, Larry Lee, while they were both working at the Heidelberg Hotel. Jean and Larry were married on September 21, 1946, and together they had two children.
Jean worked as a manager at Bernard’s in Jackson. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she and Larry enjoyed square dancing together.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Lee; son, Gary Lee; four brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Price (Francis); grandchildren, Melinda Yoder and Todd Price (Susan); and great grandchildren, Mac Yoder, Colt Yoder, Carson Yoder, Taft Price and Anna Carroll Price.
A funeral service will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning one hour prior. Jean will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, Mississippi.
