Mary Margaret Humber Polles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home at Lake Caroline, Madison, Ms surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family.
Born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Mary Margaret was a woman of grace and warmth who touched the lives of all who knew her. She attended Mississippi College for Women (MSCW) .
For 58 beautiful years, she shared a love story with her husband, Sam Polles, whom she met in college. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. She took great pride in her family, cherishing time spent with them at their home in Lake Caroline, at Perdido Beach, and at various sporting events and gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her famous “ secret” coffee cake with so many. She enjoyed dressing up as a witch for Halloween and visiting her grandsons at school as well as some local businesses she considered more like family.
At church she was known as “ the candy lady” as she was greeted every Sunday by the children from all over the congregation with excitement of what treats awaited in her bag of goodies.
A devoted member of First Baptist of Madison, Mary Margaret lived her faith daily, offering kindness and encouragement to those around her. She and Sam enjoyed a wonderful life in their close-knit neighborhood, where they built lasting friendships and created cherished memories.
Mary Margaret was known to be an encourager for all. She was quick to give a gentle smile, hug and a positive word always!
Mary Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Sam Polles, their three sons George Sam (Trip) Polles lll ( Sherrye), Jim Humber Polles ( Megan), John Carter Polles ( Amanda), seven grandsons Samuel Carter Polles ( Laine), John David Polles, Samuel James Polles, Jack Redding Polles, John Mark Polles, John Carter Polles Jr , Sam Foster Polles and one great grandson George Joseph Polles and many dear friends and neighbors who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services will be Tuesday March 25,2025, at Madison Heights Church, 415 Bozeman Road Madison Ms 39110. Visitation 10am with a funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Burial at Grace Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
