Keith Arden Killough went to be with the Lord at St. Dominic Hospital on April 18, 2023 at the age of 86. Keith was born on February 4, 1937 in Rienzi, MS. The family then moved to Eupora, MS, where he graduated from Eupora High School. Keith served his country by spending eight years in the Army National Guard. Keith spent the later part of his life in Jackson where he joined the Jackson Fire Department in 1962 and served until 1986 as Captain. After his retirement, he established his own company, Investigations Co, Inc. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson for many years.
He had a passion for fixing cars, trucks, and motorcycles. You could often find him under a vehicle with a wrench in his hand. He loved being outside keeping up the yard, tilling up a garden, or playing with his beloved dog, Peanut. Keith was a talented musician. He taught himself how to play guitar, banjo, and piano.
Keith Killough is preceded in death by his parents, George E. Killough and Flora Belle Basden; sisters, Rose Katherine Jirikowic, Jo Ann Moore, Eva Gail Radner; and brother, Julian (Eddie) Killough.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Kelly Killough; his son, Kevin Warren Killough (with wife, Kara); grandsons, Kolton Andrew Killough and Kannon Lockhart Killough; brother, Shelby Greg Killough (with wife, Liz); and sister, Loretta Hart; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the kind caregivers and staff at St. Dominic Hospital for the love and compassion they showed during Keith’s most recent stay.
Visitation for Keith Killough will be at Parkway Funeral Home (1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157) on Saturday, April 22, from 12:30-2:00 PM with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM.
