Madison
John David McMichael forty three years of age of Madison, MS passed away Sunday, February First, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
David was born in Jackson, MS on Dec. 5, 1971 to Peggy and John Thomas McMichael. He spent most of his childhood in Clinton, MS and graduated from Clinton High School in 1990 and was proud to have started for the Clinton Arrows Varsity Football team.
David went on to graduate from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a love of Thermo Dynamics. He was a very active member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and was involved with many campus activities.
He was recruited by York International as a Sales Engineer and worked in Memphis, TN for Shelby Skipwith before joining Ward Mechanical Equipment in January Two Thousand, where he became the managing partner of the Applied Equipment Division. His passion for business gained him the respect of the entire industry and will be missed by those that worked with him.
David was equally as passionate about his family and his hobbies. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting with family and friends, supported Mississippi State athletics, and delighted in coaching his children's sports. His approach to life surrounded him with family and friends.
David married Nicole O'Keefe and have two children, Cameron Patrick, 11, and Meredith Reese, 9. David is survived by his parents, John and Peggy McMichael of Clinton, MS; sister, Melody Winston of Madison, MS, brother in law, Mike Winston; nieces, Baylie Marie Winston, Kaysie Ann Winston, Mary Grace Winston; mother-in-law, Heidi O’Keefe; and father-in-law, Dr. Danny O'Keefe, both of Madison.
Visitation will be at Parkway Funeral Home (formerly Wright & Ferguson) in Ridgeland, MS from 5-7 pm on Feb. 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Madison United Methodist Church with visitation at 9:30am and funeral services at 10:30 am on Feb. 5, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited.
