Levon was born in Byington, Tennessee, on January 2, 1944, to Hazel and John R Sanders. She attended Terry High School, Mississippi State College for Women (MUW) and Mississippi State University.
Levon married Thomas Albert Doolittle Jr, at her family home on September 16th, 1972, and just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Together they have 4 children, Jeff, Lea, Tad and Robin. Throughout her career, she was a business owner and successful sales woman in the male dominated commercial sign industry. Much of her work spanned the Southeast from Texas to Virginia and many of the signs she designed and sold are still being used today. Some of the things that brought her great joy were gardening, watching sports and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Levon is survived by her husband Tommy and four children, Jeff Wilson, Lea Miller (Jason), Tad Doolittle (Danielle) and Robin Covington (Mike). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Dylan Doolittle, Sarah Covington, Ty Miller, Hayes Miller and MJ Covington plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John R Sanders; mother, Hazel G Sanders; brother, Ray Sanders and sister, Peggy Chambers.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 12:00pm. Visitation for Levon will be held on the same day/location at 10:30am. She will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton, MS, immediately following her services.
Memorial donations may be made in Levon’s name to Heart to Heart Senior Care Center in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, at 113 Dees Drive, Suite G Madison, MS 39110.
