Georgia Cook Loe peacefully passed away on April, 23, 2013, in Madison, MS. Georgia was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, on the Rio Grande. Her family relocated to Louisiana where she later attended LSU, earning a degree in Business Administration. Known for her outgoing and endearing personality, she was voted KA Rose. While at LSU she met her future husband, Lamar Loe, and they eventually settled in Vicksburg, MS.
Georgia was a vibrant, social individual with a head for business. She owned and operated a dress boutique in Vicksburg for over a decade and was well known for dressing Miss Mississippi each year. In 1980 she moved to Jackson and earned her realtors license. She sold real estate for over 20 years and was respected and well known throughout the Jackson area. She was a busy, active person with many hobbies, especially the love for ballroom dancing and playing bridge. Having a keen mind and a competitive streak, she was a top ranked contract bridge player in Mississippi.
Georgia was a loving Christian woman her entire life and raised her three daughters in that manner. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and an active member in her Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Cubbie Cook, and her sister, Dorothy Cook Wilder. She is survived by her three daughters Rainy Loe Carr (Scooter) of Tupelo, MS, Laura Loe (Lex DeKrock) of Ridgeland, MS. and Traci Loe LaMoyne (Gary) of Baton Rouge, LA., seven grandchildren, Matthew Carr (MH), Bonnie Carr Mize (Paul), Lacy Carr Morse (Landon), Hayley Moore, Shelley Moore, Marshall LaMoyne, Leigh LaMoyne, one great grandchild Jack Carr and another on the way. She is also survived by her brother-in-law John Wilder, nephew Lawson Wilder, and niece Carrie Wilder Carrique.
Visitation will be 10:00 am on Friday, April 26, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS with services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge, LA, 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Association of Mississippi, 196 Charmant Place, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
