She was born October 28, 1952, in Ruleville, Mississippi. She attended Cleveland High School and Mississippi State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in early childhood education. She always had a love for children and worked as a teacher in several schools for a total of nine years before leaving the classroom to dedicate herself to raising her own family.
Anne was a proud member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison where she was an active member of its congregation, the Sarah Perkins’s Women on Mission Group, Mana Group, and other ministries. She was also a Charter Member of the Junior Auxiliary of Madison County.
She loved serving other people, telling them about her savior, Jesus Christ, traveling to new places, and gardening.
Anne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frank Wright, Jr., her sons, Ray Wright (Amanda), and Evan Wright (Karen), grandchildren Elijah Wright, Stewart Wright, Silas Wright, Hudson Wright, Turner Robinson, and Ramsey Claire Robinson, brother George Evans, Jr. (Elizabeth), brother-in-law Dean Dick, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Carolyn Evans, sister Carolyn Sue, and sister-in-law Linda Dick.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral home on Friday, August 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 24 at 9:00 a.m.
Anne asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Crossroads Ministry in Canton, Mississippi.
