Deborah Shea Sutherland of Madison went home to be with the Lord on the 20th of May in Houston, TX, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Shea was born in Jackson, MS, on August 2, 1967 to Kimble and Glenda Beall Sutherland.
Shea was a graduate of Forest Hill High School, Mississippi College, and the University of Tennessee where she received a Master’s in Accountancy.
She grew up in Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, where she gave her heart to Jesus at the age of seven. She was currently an active member of FBC Madison. Shea really enjoyed being a part of the Working Women’s Bible Study. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and reading.
Shea is survived by her parents, her brother, Clay Sutherland (Sabrina), her sister, Ashley Dugas (Matt), and her nephews and nieces, Nick Sutherland (Amanda), Leslie Sutherland, Connor Sutherland, Natalie Shea Bonds, Coleman Bonds, and Matilda Dugas, and a great niece, Marlie Sutherland. Shea was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ab and Claudine Sutherland and Otto and Mary Nell Beall.
She was a CPA for Lefoldt and Company before serving as CFO of hospitals in Spring Hill and Brooksville, FL, Midwest City, OK, Amory, MS, and finally at Merit Health in Madison, MS.
Funeral services will be held at FBC Madison on Thursday, May 25 at 10:00 am with visitation for Shea Sutherland at Parkway Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 24th from 5-8 pm.
Shea’s family would like to thank all the prayer warriors who have loved and supported her and her family through this illness and the staffs of St. Dominic Hospital and MD Anderson for their exceptional and loving care.
