Cliff was born on May 8, 1937, in Indio, California. He grew up in Mobile, Alabama. Cliff served in the Navy during the Korean War and was stationed in Barcelona, Spain. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. Cliff was a Senior Account Executive with IBM for over 30 years where he won numerous sales awards. During his career he mentored many new employees and made great lifelong friends.
He is survived by his wife Molly, their children Sharon Westerfield, Andy Hoke and Michele Warnock; grandchildren Mary and Drew Hoke; Luke, Matthew, and Joey Westerfield; David and Jonathan Warnock. He is also survived by sister Beverly Mizell, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hoke and son-in-law Kelly Warnock. He was preceded in death by his son Paul Hoke, mother Celeste Hoke, father Clifton T. Hoke, Sr., sister Jeannette Bennett, and son-in-law Steve Westerfield.
Cliff loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. His children and grandchildren have many fond memories of their time spent with Grandpa learning these skills from him.
Pallbearers are Dan Hart, Drew Hoke, Allen Sheely, David Warnock, Kelly Warnock, Joey Westerfield, Luke Westerfield and Matthew Westerfield,
Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Warnock, Mary Hoke, Ken Saterfiel, Ike Brumfield, Johnny Gross, Ray Lenow, Richard Paddock, Gary Crain, Sammy Waxman, Don Wetzel, Raymond Vaughn, Johnny Sneddon, Dick Stader and Jim Ritchie.
The family would like to thank his physicians Dr. Bobby Graham, Dr. Robert Allen Sheely, Dr. Robert Mallette and Dr. David Mosal for their outstanding care and compassion and Fr. Al Camp, Monsignor Mike Flannery, Fr. Dan Gallagher and Fr. Kevin Slattery for their spiritual guidance.
All arrangements will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt. Visitation is Monday, February 1 from 5 pm – 7 pm and Tuesday, February 2 from 9 am – 10 am. The funeral will be Tuesday, February 2 at 10 am. Interment will be Wednesday, February 3 at Catholic Cemetery in Mobile at 1 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Batson Children’s Hospital.
